glitches and techs
Snake sliding=a variant of dash attack canceling. by using a dashattack with cdown, and hitting up z, the momentum of the dashattack is retained but you do your mortar. if you get it frame perfect(i can do it easy when not on wifi) you slide about 1/2 of final destination.hold z to charge
to practice snake sliding, hit an opponent with the dashattack, which causes a bit of frame lag while the game processes where the foe will fly and all that stuff, this extends the time you have to do the upsmash. once you get that down, try going faster while not hitting an opponent. eventually you will be able to do it without contact. don't go too fast or you do a grab.
other names=dash attack canceled up smash, DAC, Mortar sliding, snake dashing
grenade dropping=by pulling out a grenade and hitting shield while holding it, the grenade falls to the ground. simple as that, after it drops, it can be treated like a regular item and carried without impediment. it can also be thrown farther. also called grenade shielding
grenade stripping=a variant of grenade dropping. snake can only have 2 grenades at a time, what if you throw one and your opponent keeps throwing it back at you? time to strip the grenade. throw a grenade and then drop a second grenade when your opponent picks up the first. both grenades drop to the ground, including the one your opponent was holding. if your opponent throws one at you, grenade drop a grenade and the thrown nade will fall straight to the ground. this is useful, but situational.

im totally not done yet either, i had work to do at my job so i had to take a breakRtgiant wrote:man you do know your stuff.
snake hopping=not a glitch like a few other techs already named, but useful. snakes dair and nair are long attacks, so you can do the entire thing(good) in a short hop(getting less than 4 hits bad). so full hop and do the attack on the way up from the jump and you get all hits in. these arials deal massive damage if all hits connect. 28% to be precise. these also have immese priority(they overide many other attacks if they 2 meet) so each can be used to approach a short distance or edge guard, or even allow safe landing. simply full hop and do a dair or nair and thats snake hopping. if you are being juggled, a dair can hit through your opponent and allow you to land on the safety of ground. if your opponent is recovering with something like fox or wolfs up b, or someont is falling with falcon or ganons down b, snake hop a nair and hit them out of it. very useful
i dont know the name of this but snake can regain his second jump(like bowser and his side b) by doing a bair. i dont know the exact timing of it, because i dont find much use in it, but if someone knows it, please share.
cypher recovery= say you use your up b(cypher) and dont make the edge. dont lose hope, plany a c4 and set it off asap, if you arent to low you will detonate the c4 on yourself, which gives you back your cypher. if you are below the stage line(aka beneath the stage) dont expect to have time to set it off, so if you have c4 on the field already, leave it.

now on to more techs.
grenade bouncing= when you throw a dropped grenade down, it bounces perpendicularly to the surface it hits, and with varying force depending on how high from which it was thrown. this allows interesting throws on stages like corneria and pirate ship.
mortar fountain= i made this name up but some people like it, c-up over and over, creating a somewhat protecting barrior of mortar shells and mortar hits. its good for intimidating your opponent
Fair= this move can ko ain between 30 and 120 percent depending on the hit. if you hit with his heel, it spikes, and with great power too. if you hit with the leg, it hits up, with less knockback. if you do this after a cypher recovery, it will increase your horizontal distance a bit, not much, but it could be enough so you reach the edge. sometimes, if you hit with the heel at the very bottom of the kick, it sends your foe behind you going around 30 degrees from straight down, this move has so moch knockback it is unbeleivable. dont bank on this happening, but its a cool thing when it does.
